If you never ask, the answer will always be “No”.
I always have a vision when it comes to dresses or clothes. I imagine a dress in my head and how it will look with all of the details. After my vision I normally go out and have a look at the dresses on the market, but because I’ve visualised it a million times it’s always difficult for me to find what I’ve been looking at in my mind. So here I normally start to think creatively, look on the internet like ebay or vintage stores. And of course this was the case with my wedding dress. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a dress with shoulder pads, pearls and a high neck. After looking for 2 months without finding anything that I wanted, I decided to buy a cheap dress from China. Yeah… I know, a wedding dress from China that’s risky. But I had heard a lot about tailored dresses from China and decided to buy a dress I saw online for 125 dollars. The dress came after 30 days, and SURPRISE it didn’t look like the dress I had seen online. The lace on the dress was okay, but the shape was really bad and didn’t fit my body. I had 30 days to do something with the dress before my wedding, so I called my dear friend Søren Hedegaard. Søren is Crown Princesses Marys hair/makeup stylist, he also did my hair and makeup for the wedding. He is the most amazing and helpful person, so he called a tailor Birgit Hallstein, she is amazing and sews some of Crown Princesses’ dresses. She was so lovely and wanted to help me create my dream wedding dress. She ripped the Chinese dress apart, used the laces from it, added about 1000 pearls and made everything else from scratch. So not only did I get to design my own dress but the people who usually make the Crown Princess of Denmark look like a million, made little me feel like a princess.
Love you guys forever
